996 except the 996R, you need my Testastretta tool and the 2002 748 fitted with ST4 heads which uses my ST4 tool.
It will also fit the 2001-on Monster S4 and S4R.
On Ducati Desmoquattro 4V engines there is always pressure on the cams and if the cam belts are removed without holding the cam wheels the correct valve timing will be lost.
This tool has been designed to precisely fit between the 2 camshafts and hold them in place allowing for easy replacement of the cam belts.
Installation tips:
First, lock the rear cylinder cams with this tool, then remove belt from the front cylinder followed by rear. Replace belt on rear cylinder followed by the front. Remove the cam lock tool and tension belts.
